All sounds (sound design, foley, and music) are created by me. The first few videos are experiments in scoring and creating the sfx for nature film clips. I also produce music under the alias Tusk One. Examples of that below.
DAY 7 of my February sound design project. This clip is from Planet Earth and features a giant star fish on the hunt. Per usual, BBC has the most epic footage I've seen in nature films. I used some unusual sounds for this clip. From rubber bands being plucked, to scraping an empty sand dollar with a hair brush, I tried to record as many original sounds as I could for this clip. I finally got to use a recording I took of my fiance's stomach last year when she had indigestion. Knew that one would come in handy.
Day 3 of my February sound design everyday project. Tonight's clip is from the documentary Microcosmos. I wanted to approach this one differently than the last two in that I focused less on the sound design as I did creating a weird score. Enjoy.
DAY 2 of my February everyday project. Create all the sounds and score for a favorite documentary clip. This one is from BBC's Hidden Life of a Cell. It takes you through an amazing CGI experience about how a virus attacks a human cell. Every sound in this clip is created by me with Ableton Live, a Kilpatrick Phenol, and a slick little granular synth my buddy dave put together in Reaktor 6. (Enjoy with good headphones) and don't forget to take your vitamins.
TUSK ØNE's 2nd EP on Foundation Channel. Inspired by sounds sampled from Vietnam's jungles and seas, chanting monks in China, and the grit of the Mission District in San Francisco, this EP uses atmospheres and textures to form a layered sonic experience that is all built upon a rich foundation of sub bass.
